July 6th & 7th Predictions - Semifinals

As we enter the semifinals, the 1st faces the 4th and the 2nd face the 3rd from their respective tier. After that, the winners go on to battle for the top spot into their tier, or the cup, and the losers battle it out for the 3rd position.

It is unclear if there will be draws in the finals, but matches will not be predicted with draw. Winners will be on the left.

Welcome to the ACV Semifinals predictions page, once again the matches are seperated so that it is easy to tell them apart. The matches are ordered like this: 1st vs. 4th then 2nd vs. 3rd. Predictions are below.

We wish all participants good luck in their respective groups!

Kreludor vs. Krawk Island

Space versus Sea... that entirely sums up both first tier matches. This is one of the more confusing matches to predict, as Kreludor has been very side games oriented this tourney, while Krawk Island went for Yooyuball entirely. This has undoubtedly helped both of the teams throughout the tournament. Not to mention, Kreludor still managed to tie for the 2nd best Yooyuball record. As for Krawk Island, despite currently holding the best Yooyuball record this cup, they reside in 4th. Kreludor?s consistency throughout the cup has shown that this team did not tumble like Shenkuu, and became a stronger powerhouse then ever this cup. This in mind, Kreludor should be able to take Yooyuball, the key game of the finals matches. Krawk Island should still be able to grab one or sidegames, most likely Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, while Kreludor is putting it all into Yooyuball. Still, the finals are home to upsets, and with both of these teams playing their hardest, anything could happen.

Virtupets vs. Maraqua

The second Space versus Sea match is Virtupets against Maraqua, the top members of tier two last year. At both encounters, Maraqua has beaten the robot team, drawing Yooyuball and taking Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown the first time, then dropping Slushie Slinger but taking Yooyuball full-out the second time. Maraqua is hot off two sweeps in a row, pulling into the top 4 in the last 3 days of the second round. Virtupets currently is tied for the 2nd best Yooyuball record with Kreludor, Maraqua on the other hand has the 4th best record in the main sport. Despite this, Virtupets is only the equivalent of two Yooyuball draws ahead. This time around, the sheer mass of Maraqua's players giving it their all should be able to drench, sorry, soak Virtupets. It's most likely the fish will be able to take Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, their strong sports. This should let Virtupets in to take Make Some Noise, where they are currently without a loss, and Slushie Slinger, which has been Maraqua's weak spot lately.

Meridell vs. Terror Mountain

This match is not nearly as close as the 1st tier matches. Terror Mountain came into this year as the best team, spending day one, and a few days after in the top tier. Unfortunately for them, the second round was not as easy, with the team almost falling into 3rd tier several times. Despite sitting in 8th, they only have the 13th best Yooyuball record in the cup, much of their power being focused on side games. Meanwhile Meridell holds the 5th best Yooyuball record in the cup. Though it's not likely, Meridell could falter in the finals once again, much like they did last year after barely losing 1st tier. But again, unlike Maraqua last year, Terror Mountain is not a Yooyuball powerhouse. This mean it will most likely be an easier match for Meridell in their stronger games, taking Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. On the other end is Terror Mountain?s sidegame dominance, where they once again took the best Shootout Showdown record and the 3rd best Make Some Noise record. Due to this it is most likely that Terror Mountain will claim their best games.

Darigan Citadel vs. Tyrannia

Darigan Citadel Was trying extremely hard this year to be the first team in cup history to win twice. Unfortunately for them, their dreams shattered as the team once again fell into 2nd tier. The team now sits in 6th, with the same standing in the Yooyuball scoreboard. Tyrannia started off strong, but declined as the cup went on, also falling out of the first tier all together. Darigan Citadel has a superior Yooyuball record by 3 wins, and will most likely win the match overall. Tyrannia is actually not a stronger Shootout Showdown team, but Darigan Citadel will be super focused on Yooyuball, making it unlikely that many side games, especially close ones, will be taken. Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise will go to their respective teams, Tyrannia grabs Slushies, Darigan Citadel will Make Noise. As for Darigan Citade'?s hope to be the first team to win twice, there's always next year, supplied Krawk Island doesn't take the pennant this year.

Haunted Woods vs. Shenkuu

Much like last year, Haunted Woods failed to jump into 2nd tier. Also appearing like last year before the finals, Haunted Woods could be able to improve for the first time in Altador Cup history. Team Haunted Woods is facing Shenkuu, the team that banished them to 12th last year, and knowing the Zombies, they'll be looking for revenge. The teams' Yooyuball records are fairly close, but in terms of overall results and consistency, Haunted Woods is stronger. Shenkuu's inconsistency with their Slushie Slinger results and Haunted Woods' 4th best Make Some Noise record will allow the Zombies to take those two games. However, Shenkuu will not be going down without a fight, and will likely take Shootout Showdown.

Roo Island vs. Brightvale

Roo Island has the strongest Yooyuball record in 3rd tier, meaning that they will most likely be able to take the overall match. Brightvale is known for causing upsets against higher tier teams. Especially in this stage, anything can happen, but the Roo Island want to do as well as possible to make up for their 6 place fall. As for the sides, the Roos are weak in both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, so Brightvale should be able to grab both. The Roos have twice Brightvale's record in Shootout Showdown, so that's most likely another win for them.

Lost Desert vs. Faerieland

Of the past champions of the Altador Cup, team Lost Desert has been hit the hardest by the infamous Winner's Curse. Falling twelve places after being the champions in last year's cup, Lost Desert is, at this point, looking to reduce collateral damage. They now face Faerieland, who haven't moved much at all since last cup, or the beginning of this one. The Lost Desert is a much stronger team in Yooyuball, as well as in Make Some Noise, in which Faerieland holds the lowest overall record. The remaining two sides will be fairly close competition, and though Lost Desert has a slight advantage in both, Faerieland will likely take them with a bit of extra focus.

Mystery Island vs. Kiko Lake

Despite predictions, Mystery Island is still a 4th tier team. As for Kiko Lake, they had a strong run this year, getting into 11th at one point. These are two teams who really can do anything when they put their mind to it, but have to show up for the match. The standings for all of the games for these teams are incredibly far apart, making these results very logical. Mystery Island is vastly superior in Yooyuball, with over twice the points in the game. As for the Kikos, they're doubling Mystery Island in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Shootout Showdown will be the closest, but Kiko Lake holds the 2nd highest Shootout Showdwn record and should be able to take the sport. As stated prior, these teams will do anything to get the highest place possible, but Mystery Island has a but more experience in that.

Altador vs. Moltara

The Sixth Altador Cup has been hard year for Moltara and Altador, both of whom remain in the bottom two. Despite this, the cup has not been without improvement. Moltara won 3 Yooyuball matches, while Altador has become a real Slushie Slinging powerhouse. Moltara has the overall better record in both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, because Altador has a perfect loss record in both sports. Altador is tied for the 2nd best Slushie Slinger team, so that should be an easy with for them. Make Some Noise can really go either way, but it's more than likely for Altador to be able to grab a second sport, though it could be going back and forth for the 4 day match. Everyone is interested to who will win this year's double battle to avoid last, and whether or not Moltara can improve..
