Recently, Neopets has put a lot of ugly ads on their site. However, there is good news... you can block the ads! We're going to show you how to block those evil ads that Neopets throws your way, so you can have an ad-free Neopets experience.

First off, in order to block Neopets ads we recommend that you use the internet browser Mozilla Firefox.

What is and why Firefox? Firefox is a secure and fast internet browser, better than Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is rather slow and buggy, but Firefox is fast, safe, and secure. Unlike IE (Internet Explorer), Firefox has cool tools that you can use to customize your browser. The tool that we'll be using (for Firefox) is called AdBlock. Some people are against using Firefox because they are used to IE more, but let me tell ya, Firefox is much better once you get the hang of it (and it's not that hard to get the hang of it). TDN supports loves Firefox :) TDN displays best in Firefox, actually.

First you must download Firefox. If you are unsafe downloading Firefox, let me assure you that Firefox is super safe and should not mess up your computer (unless you have a REALLY OLD COMPUTER). It does not contain spyware or any other junk like that. The link to download Firefox is provided below.

After getting to Firefox.com, click the big green button to download Firefox.

Now, you should have Firefox installed and should be browsing this web page with Firefox. If you're not, do that now. The next step is downloading AdBlock which is an extension or add-on to the Firefox browser that gives you ad-blocking capabilities. To download AdBlock, go here and click the green "Install Now" button. After adding this add-on YOU MUST restart your browser - you can do this easily by clicking the restart browser button after adding the add-on and it will bring you back to this page.

Back already eh? So you should have Firefox open right now. Press CTRL + SHIFT + E (CMD + SHIFT + E on Mac) to open your AdBlock Preferences (or go Tools -> AdBlock Plus. Then click 'AdBlock Preferences'.) Once the box opens locate Filters at the top and select 'Add filter subscription...' Don't worry, here is a picture of what it should look like:

Now, click on the 'View all subscriptions' link:

A web page should open, in the second row, you need to subscribe to 'EasyElement+EasyList'. See the image below to know what to click:

Once the filter is added, open your Adblock Preferences again and manually add the url below to your filter list.

Click 'okay' and you're done!

If you're a frequent user of the Adver-Video , this will affect that game. If you add the following to your filter "@@|http://www.neopets.com/games/play_flash.phtml?va=&game_id=683*|" (without the quotes) it should whitelist the advert-video page specifically.

If you're a frequent user of Petpetadventure , this will affect that game. If you click the ABP logo on the top right of your browser, you can allow that page to be 'whitelisted' so nothing is blocked on that page

Now, browse Neopets.com. If you followed all of the steps in order and did them correctly, you shouldn't be seeing any ads. You're using the best browser on earth too! Enjoy your ad-free Neopets experience!
