Roo Island
While they may no longer be merely the small team from the depths of the rankings, Roo Island has always possessed the underdog spirit, coming in from behind to take down teams that, for all intents and purposes, should have crushed them easily. The Roos rebounded quickly from their lackluster performance two years ago, shaking off the winner's curse and fighting their way all the way up into tier one. They were unable to make much headway in the finals however, and finished fourth overall.
While Roo Island's fan base has grown in past years, their core supporters have remained lively and loyal, bringing a dedicated game spirit and impeccable sportsmanship to a team that would otherwise be fairly unremarkable. The Roos have shown in the past that it's possible for a small team to make it to the top on determination and energy alone, and with the team's growing supporter base, it's likely that they're here to stay in the first tier.
Team Roo Island is, however, slightly lacking in terms of raw Yooyuball power, at least when matched up against other top-tier favourites. Additionally, the team's side game performance is fair, but not outstanding across the board. This team may not quite have the strength to outperform its peers just yet.
